Meet Our Specialty ACVB Resident

Dr. Crystal Steib is excited to be a resident of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists working with Dr. Patrick Melese DVM, DACVB and his Veterinary Behavior Consultants specialty practice in San Diego acting as her residency mentor since early 2023. In 2006, Dr. Steib received her BS in Animal Science from Louisiana State University then graduated top of her class from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association , the California Veterinary Medical Association , and the San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association . Dr. Steib is an active participant and advocate of continuing educational seminars and will be participating in providing CE to the local veterinary community and doing research in behavioral medicine during her residency. She joined the staff of Morena Pet Hospital as a full-time associate in August 2011 when she moved to San Diego then later purchased the veterinary practice and has owned and seen general practice patients since then. Dr. Steib was raised near Baton Rouge, Louisiana and enjoys hiking and camping with her big rescue pup, Mr. Bones, and husband Rob. Twiggy, her tiny, rescued Chihuahua, loves to cuddle after a long day at work. Athena and Mickey, her two cats, keep everyone entertained at home.
